We are very privileged to have the Zen Master Hyon Gak Sunim leading our retreats at Synthesis Center (please look below for information about Sunim). He’s been generous enough to visit us many times in the past year, and would have continued to do so, if it were not for the COVID-19 restrictions.

This is a part of one of his many inspiring talks and Synthesis, which was basically the answer to one of our member’s question. The sound is not great, but we include the video with English and then Greek subtitles.

Just to set the scene: It is the 3rd and final day of our retreat. We had been in sitting and walking meditation for two days, and a little before this talk, we turned back from facing the wall to face the center of the room, and right then the waning sun was beaming into the room through a gap in the trees outside. A clear beam of light was crossing the whole space, and in it, all the dust particles of the room were clearly visible, doing their dance in the light.
